Social Pedagogue Wanted at Paradisskolan

We are looking for a social pedagogue with strong relational skills and the ability to meet and develop students in close collaboration with teachers, EHT, and management. Initially, you will be assigned to one of our grade levels and be part of that grade team as well as have a connection to our after-school activities.

Paradisskolan, which is a K-6 school, moved into new premises in the autumn of 2022. About 65 people work here and approximately 360 students attend. It is a fantastic opportunity to be part of the continued development of our new school. At the school, students and teachers have good and trusting relationships, we focus on teaching, and we work together for the best of our students. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

You will work as a social pedagogue and initially be assigned to a grade level in the middle school where you will be part of the grade team and work closely with the team's educators. This means that you will help and support students both socially and in their education, as well as assist the team in planning and implementing the necessary teaching structures during the school day. This includes participating in lessons, small groups for students, social interventions aimed at specific students, pedagogical lunches, and breaks.

Therefore, you need to have a genuine interest in working with and helping students, a high degree of collaboration skills, and be service-minded. Your responsibilities include supporting students throughout their school day, which involves developing students' knowledge, communication skills, daily living skills, etc., in close dialogue with the team's educators, student health, safety teams, and school management.

You need to have a high degree of flexibility as tasks over time are determined by the needs of the organization, which means that other targeted assignments will become relevant.

After school hours, some of the tasks will continue within the framework of the after-school structure but also planning work with the grade team or other partners.

QUALIFICATIONS

You have a degree in social pedagogy or another qualification that the employer considers equivalent. You preferably have experience working with students with special needs and experience with various types of neuropsychiatric challenges or affective states. A requirement is that you have a very good ability to express yourself in the Swedish language, both orally and in writing.

It is advantageous if you have training in any of the following:

• Intellectual disabilities
• Experience working in Swedish schools for at least 1 year
• Neuropsychiatric disabilities
• Low-arousal approach
• ICDP
• MI

It is also advantageous if you have computer skills and can navigate various digital systems within the framework of Office365, especially OneNote and Teams.

As a person, you need to have good patience and a calm demeanor as the work is based on long-term development and improvement of relationships and structures for students in the school environment and the ability to build relationships with students based on their individual circumstances. You also need to have independent initiative and flexibility as the organization requires it, as well as the ability to plan and execute tasks in a structured manner. Finally, you need to have good collaboration skills.
